Headset

Field testing on a velodrome gives very interesting information. It is the fastest way to assess aerodynamic quality of gearing like TT helmets, but also to try some position changes. One of the main interest of the CdaCrr app is that you have an immediate feedback of your new position. Once, the defined length mode is selected in the settings, you don't have to press the click button each lap. You can also activate the speech/record option, and each lap you will hear a voice message. With a TT helmet and the noise of the wheels, you can have issue hearing the message and of course, you don't want to have a look at the screen, to keep your head in a constant position. So, either you have a wire headset to connect to the app, or better, you can buy a cheap bluetooth headset, like this one (Excelvan V1-1 Bluetooth Headset) and select the option in the settings. I have tested this headset for motobikes and the sound is good. You clearly hear your CdA each turn and immediately notice if you are faster or not with your new position. The second advantage of this headset is that you can record a voice message during the run: after the CdA is value, there is a bip indicating you have around 7 seconds to say few words about for instance, what movement you did, or indicate the there is a wind gust,
or anything else which will be useful for the post analysis. All this voice messages will be logged in your Lap.csv file and listed in the "List runs" menu activity.
